Who we are and what this policy covers

This website is operated by qrks.ai ("we", "us" or "our"). We provide tools that build and update websites through conversation. For questions about this policy or your personal data, contact hello@qrks.ai.

This policy covers the public qrks.ai website, including the standalone product pages, and enquiries you send to us. It describes the information processed when you browse these pages or contact us.

Account information, conversations, source code and project data processed within app.qrks.ai or a customer’s standalone deployment are outside this website policy. Check the privacy information and any data-processing agreement supplied for that service before submitting project or personal data. Websites published by our customers have their own operators and privacy notices.

Information processed when you visit or contact us

  • Website requests: hosting and content-delivery services receive technical information needed to serve pages, such as your IP address, requested URL, request time and browser information.
  • Website analytics: Google Analytics receives page and event information, such as the page URL, referrer, browser and device information, and your consent state. Cookie-based measurement can also distinguish visits and sessions after you accept.
  • Your preferences: your browser stores your analytics choice and, if you choose one, your light or dark theme.
  • Enquiries: if you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include, such as your name, company, project details and attachments. Please only send information needed for your enquiry.

You can browse the public website without creating an account, and you can decline or switch off analytics cookies at any time. Contact details are needed if you want us to reply to an enquiry.

Why we use this information

We use technical information to deliver and protect the website, analytics to understand usage and improve the pages, and correspondence to answer questions or discuss a potential service. Browser preferences let us remember your choices.

Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we rely on consent for optional analytics cookies and the associated measurement where the law requires it, including for visitors in the UK, the EU/EEA and Switzerland. We use enquiry information to take steps you request before entering a contract, or for our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries. Our interests in operating, securing and improving the website are relevant to technical processing and cookieless measurement, subject to the requirements of applicable law.

Withdrawing cookie consent stops future cookie-based analytics on this website. It does not erase information already received by Google. You can contact us to exercise any applicable rights concerning that information.

Google Analytics before and after your choice

We use Google Analytics 4 with advanced Consent Mode. The Google tag loads when you visit a page, with analytics storage denied by default unless you have a valid saved acceptance.

Where you are affects the default. We judge your region from your browser’s time zone, not your IP address. If it points to the UK, the EU/EEA or Switzerland (or can’t be determined), we ask for your choice before any analytics cookies are set, and the page stays blurred until you choose. Everywhere else, analytics cookies are allowed by default and no popup is shown; you can switch them off at any time using cookie settings in the footer, and a saved “No thanks” is always respected.

Where we ask first, before you choose, and whenever you select “No thanks”, Google receives cookieless page views and measurement signals. These requests include information about the page and your browser; “cookieless” does not mean that no data leaves your device. Google does not read or write analytics cookies in this mode.

If you select “Allow cookies”, Google Analytics can store cookies to measure visits and sessions. Our integration keeps advertising consent denied and disables Google Signals and advertising personalization.

See Google’s explanation of Consent Mode and Google’s privacy policy for more information.

Cookies and browser storage

Use cookie settings in the footer to reopen the popup and change your choice. “No thanks” disables analytics cookies; cookieless measurement continues. Your browser’s privacy controls can also restrict third-party requests and stored data.

Service providers and external links

  • Amazon Web Services: the website is published using AWS Amplify and its hosting infrastructure. See the AWS privacy notice.
  • Google Analytics: receives the measurement information described above.
  • Google Fonts: fonts load directly from Google when the page opens, independently of the analytics cookie choice. This involves a connection from your browser to Google, including your IP address and request information. See Google Fonts’ privacy information.
  • Email services: our email provider processes correspondence you send to hello@qrks.ai so we can receive and respond to it.

Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Our cookie choice applies to this public website; it is not a consent setting for those other services.

Retention and international processing

Browser storage periods are described above. Information sent to Google Analytics is subject to the retention settings for our Analytics property and Google’s applicable terms; cookie expiry and report retention are separate things.

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to answer and follow up on the enquiry, manage any resulting relationship, and meet applicable record-keeping or legal obligations. Technical records are subject to the relevant hosting and security settings.

Our providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your country. The applicable protections depend on the provider, service and destination. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access your personal data, correct it, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Send requests to hello@qrks.ai. We may need enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant data, and will respond within the period required by applicable law.

You can also complain to your local data-protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office. In the EEA, you can find your authority in the European Data Protection Board’s directory.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when the website’s privacy practices change and revise the date above. If you have questions about this policy, email hello@qrks.ai.
